| Hertfordshire lads Rotating Leslie shoot back onto the music scene with their single ‘No Requests’. Does it live up to their previous outings which have been so well received by both press and listeners alike?
The first track is the title track ‘No Requests’ which is a classic floating indie track. It’s very easy to listen to and has clean and clear vocals with a catchy musical journey that flows so well. Not a track that invades but somehow soothes. The track is very indie and very now. It’s a definite grower and will inch its way into your brain, cool.
Next up is ‘Nine Bar Blues’. This is a bigger and louder track than ‘No Requests’ but it still doesn’t smack you in the face. It socks it to you with a gentle foot. It’s so catchy and poppy that this track gets into you and you just wanna move to it. This track is a bit raw but would easily fit into the top 40 these days along with the Kaiser Chiefs and Franz Ferdinand.
The last track is ‘On Your Way’. This is a melodic but yet funky track. The track flows on with a pounding beat that you can just see the audience’s heads bounce along with. It’s still a very cool and funky track which gives you everything a track needs – its pop, funk, indie coolness with an edge.
I think with ‘No Requests’ Rotating Leslie have come up trumps. This three track stonker just shows that as the band go along on their musical journey they can only get stronger, lyrically and musically. They have a lot to offer the listeners and if they carry on as they do, in the near future they will be the next big thing. Well fingers crossed anyway.
